What types of plywood does Galant manufacture?
Galant manufactures a comprehensive range of wood products including BWP (Boiling Water Proof) Marine Grade Plywood, MR (Moisture Resistant) Grade Plywood, Block Board, GHDMR (Green High Density Moisture Resistant) boards, Flush Doors, Shuttering Plywood, Decorative Laminates, and Veneers. What is BWP grade plywood and how is it different from MR grade?
BWP (Boiling Water Proof) plywood, also called Marine Grade Plywood, is manufactured using phenol formaldehyde resin which makes it highly resistant to water. It can withstand prolonged exposure to boiling water without delamination. MR (Moisture Resistant) grade uses urea formaldehyde resin and is suitable for interior use where occasional moisture exposure may occur. BWP is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and exterior applications, while MR is suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, and dry interior spaces.
What is GHDMR and what are its advantages?
GHDMR stands for Green High Density Moisture Resistant board. It is a superior alternative to traditional MDF boards with higher density, excellent moisture resistance, and inherent resistance to borers, termites, and fungi. GHDMR promotes a healthy indoor environment by emitting minimal formaldehyde fumes and complies with stringent E1 grade requirements. It's ideal for modular furniture, kitchen cabinets, and interior applications.
What thickness and size options are available?
Our plywood is available in thicknesses of 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm, 25mm, and 28mm. Standard sizes include 6×3, 6×4, 7×3, 7×4, 8×3, and 8×4 feet. GHDMR boards come in a standard size of 2440mm × 1220mm with thicknesses of 3mm, 5.5mm, 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 16.75mm, 18mm, and 25mm. Custom sizes may be available on request for bulk orders.
What is the difference between Galant Soldier, Club, and Platinum?
These represent our three product tiers. Galant Soldier 710 is our climate-proof plywood with a 15-year warranty, ideal for general interior use. Galant Club is our mid-premium range offering excellent durability and finish. Galant Platinum is our most premium BWP grade plywood with the finest surface finish and highest strength, perfect for high-end interiors and demanding applications.
